Kirsten Watson

Kirsten Watson, Vice-President

Kirsten Watson has led an inspirational life in a variety of roles that promote social awareness, moral values and giving back to her community.

She recently left the Northeastern Center for Sport and Society to start “One More.” While at Northeastern, Kirsten worked as the Manager of the Violence Prevention and Diversity Team. Her role was focused on educating and training people about gender violence, diversity awareness, conflict resolution and disabilities in sport.

Since moving to Boston, Kirsten has been working with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Kirsten led and participated in many outreach programs in the community and continues to do so today, participation in the FCA all girls’ sports camps in the summer. This program helps girls improve their athletic skills and covers topics such as self-esteem, dating, sex and relationship education.

Prior to living in Boston, Kirsten worked in the Home Depot corporate office in the Business Leadership program. The Business Leadership Program is one of the best developmental programs in the country. Its mission is to attract the best and brightest minds and develop them into leaders throughout the business organization.

The program provides training in areas such as finance, strategic business development, marketing, and human resources.

Kirsten attended college at the University of Georgia where she received a degree in Marketing with a minor in Spanish. During her time at the University, she was a member of the women’s softball team. She also worked with the Christ Life Community Church. She was involved in many capacities such as dance instructor, mentor, and tutor, as well as chaperoning field trips and assisting with fundraising. She continues those roles today as a mentor to girls in the Boston area.

Most recently, Kirsten was honored with The Heights Award, presented by the Massachusetts State Lottery, which honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the development and advancement of women’s sports and who inspire girls and women through influence or personal achievement. This award is earned by long-term commitment, demonstration, and dedication to the growth of women’s athletics.

It is apparent that Kirsten has a passion being a role model in the community and will only continue to reach people and have a positive impact on their lives. She will do this through such programs as a new ministry called “Hello Beautiful” which ministers to middle school and high school girls.
